One Night in Bangcock

This is it, lets let the puzzle unwind,
There are a number of things for you to find,
If you are to discover the way to the judge's heart...
This lamp post will make a good start,

You are now in site of and just mere steps away from ,
The world's finest meat jerky..and if you can get some,
Use your cash for a bag of spicy or plain,
And bring some back to Partybus lane. (50 points)

You'll have to keep moving to avoid being tardy,
And we really want you and your buns at our party,
So find this bakery and skip the black bean,
We really love the pork, if you know what we mean..
And a picture with our doggie pal Rufus will score you a bonus,
Just don't lose site of this evening's true onus. (50 points)

Be on your way to this hidden speakeasy,
You will be extremely lucky to get in,
You must bring us something to prove you were there,
Be it from the outside or from be it from within. (25 points)

Now get on your knees and close your eyes,
Pay homage to the partybus gods,
Taking a photo like this will put you in their favor
And dramatically better your odds.. (by 25 points)

Now follow the route of the M9 first,
When you stumble upon this stop you'll know
One way to help us quench our thirst
And getting us loose enough to let the points flow
Is to help us make our martinis taste good,
By buying some lychees for us to enjoy,
Before we finish, wrap up and deploy. (50 points)

Meet Wong

This is John Wong.  He has been to more 239 functions than many of you.  He will be making an appearance tomorrow (if you are lucky)...  He will be in the vicinity the first leg of the race.. Your job is to take a picture of him.  If you cant' find him, then take a picture with someone who looks like him.  Wong will be judging these pictures to see who finds his nearest twin.  Flattery will get you everywhere.. the winner will receive 50 points.  If you actually DO find him and your team is able to take a picture with him, you will receive double points.

Missing.. Please help.

It's So HARD.

The challenges of being a coach
Are too numerous to count,
Matt will be your game show host
If you come with the right amount..

For 75 cents he'll give you a shot
At a single round of fun,
And if you get lucky with your first choice
There could be double prizes to be won.

Neill is known for his amazing hands,
He likes to lay them on the table;
The picture cards line up in rows
Like his hoeses in the stable..

Hidden well around the school
Is a special deck of cards,
Find as many as you can,
And take the best ones from your pool..
The team with the most impressive hand
Will be the ones to win the duel..

Look for lucky number 13
It is wild like the joker,
It could help you win this high stakes game
By having the best hand in 5 card poker.

Rob frequently visits the McKittrick Hotel,
Three of his masks are quite well hidden,
To get what you really need from him
Wear your mask and know that talking is FORBIDDEN.

If you obey you will get to choose a key..
It is an important choice to make..
Each one opens a different space
To reveal a more valuable item for you to take.

Brugge has it hardest of all,
She is the jury and the judge,
You'll need to find three special items
to get her to make your point total budge.

Three Simians are lurking about,
Concealed and in plain site,
50 points for each one you find
So search the entire place..and please don't fight.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
Matt.. once you have enough money, find Matt in the auditorium during these times:
9:00-11:30  or 12:40-1:30.  You may play more than once.

Neill and Rob: The search for the cards and masks will commence at 7AM.  YOu may contact us to schedule a meeting for redemption and/or submission any time after 10:00.  If you speak to Rob when you come you will be stripped (of your prize).  You MUST follow instructions.

Brugge: You find her if you find one of our sims.  She will tell you if you have found a valid member of Rob's collection.  The Simians are NOT in the Science Lab.. nor are any other findable items.

Oh what a Night

Critical Information (Read and Share)

Props:  All props that will be used during your performance should be brought to the Science Lab in a bag or box with your team name on it by 3 PM Thursday.  These props will be transported to the Karaoke Bar and kept under lock and key.   This is to alleviate crowding on the bus as space will already to limited.

Alcohol and Food:  Alcohol and Food will be provided at the Karaoke Bar.  We've made every attempt to satisfy individual tastes. Don't expect caviar, do expect foods that people like to eat when they are intoxicated.  To get things started, BYOB for the bus.

Performances: There will be two wireless microphones (no stand) and you have the option of bringing your own music if you choose via iphone hookup.  Mash-ups and custom songs are allowed.  You will be singing along with your song as you did for the tryouts.  A screen with words/lyrics will be available for all songs performed except custom created mash-ups.

Returning Home:  In planning the route of the bus we decided to honor requests from the previous two years to have a drop-off here at school.  On the way back to Penn Station (dropoff @ midnight), the bus will stop near school at approximately 11;00- 11:15. Anyone wishing to leave at this point will be escorted to their car by one of the strapping young men on board.  We recommend Jason and tips will be accepted.  If you decide to use this option, please consider two things...
1)monitor your drinking accordingly.
2)move your car as close to school as possible at some point before we depart at 5 PM.

Points Breakdown:
Karaoke Performance 50%
Kramer Performance 15%
Off -Site Scavenger Hunt: 25%
Quiz 10%

Simian Bonus Points will be awarded for finding any or all of the secret items that will be hidden around the school.  These will be  revealed the day of PB  at different times.

**As always.. If you are late in getting to the pick-up and drop-off points, YOUR ASS WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.

Accuracy Training

Since accuracy IS one of the items on the judge's scorecard, we have developed the Accuracy Training Program (ATP).  You might say that this is a "paid" training, as teams who participate will receive something very valuable for Leg 1 on Party Bus 2013.  Teams who participate will also receive points if our Accuracy Training Liasion (ATL) deems them worthy.

Your ATL will be Ahuva Kramer. You will need to schedule a performance of Dai Ye Nu, as seen on the clip posted on the OFFICIAL Party Bus Pros Blog, with her ASAP. She is typically available during the following times:
Mon-Fri 11:35-12:25 OR 1:35-2:20

*Special times may be arranged at Ms. Kramers discretion.*
*All members of your team MUST perform and it MUST be memorized. No cheat sheets.*

Dai Ye Nu

Do you "Dai Ye Nu"? Teams who love points do...

HIBTJG

watch and learn... and stay tuned for instructions.

What are the odds??

PLACE YOUR BETS!!!

This year, we invited Nat Wincho from the Las Vegas Wagers and Line Betting Organization  (WaLBO) to the school.  Being the professional that he is, he sat each of us down and asked a series of questions regarding the 2013 Partybus activities that have transpired so far.  He looked at the coaches, team distribution, recorded video of the tryout performances, past partybus footage, the rubric for the  judge's scoring for the evening, and he also secretly spied on all of you while posing as a substitute teacher (yeah.. that's right, you know who!).

Based on his analysis, he has placed the following odds for or against different teams along with explanations and rational.

The Kubs: Odds: 5:1
This team is one to be reckoned with. Lead by the insatiable and performance-tested Jessica Kutch, the sky is the limit. The experienced Ms. Kutch sang with such vigor and passion that she had every judge begging, borrowing, and stealing to be with her. Only one (Robert Monahan III)  was lucky enough, the other two, not named here, were left wilting in their chairs like parched flowers.  Did I mention that all three judges' chairs were turned within 3 seconds of the start of the performance?

The Roller Girls: Odds: 99:1
Though every bone in my body said to make the odds at 100:1, I simply didn't have the heart to give them the dreaded "triple-digit." With that being said, the Roller Girls came to the performance very well prepared with organized choreography. But this is no dance competition, this is world class Karaoke. And Karaoke, the last time I checked, is about singing. Did they own the dance floor? Yes they did.
Did they own the song? Only as much as a horse owns its saddle.  If this team overcomes the 99:1 odds, it's because they will have learned to sing their their song as if it were their own. Make no mistake, Mr. Jacobs will need have this group under his artistic and flare-for-the-dramatic eye.  The fact that they were the only performers who failed to turn one of the chairs, and that they tricked another coach into turning around by singing the lyrics "...come into me" at the extreme tail-end of their performance shows that they will probably be looking to prove something that night.

Village Chicks: Odds: 15:1
Maybe the true underdogs in this competition. The members in this group were as engaged and believable in their performance to yield interest from all three judges. Raw talent is in abundance, but to overcome the odds, they must perform as a cohesive unit. Song choice for this group is uber-important, as they will need to mold their raw talent into a performance laden with attitude.

City Slickers: Odds: 8:1
Accurate singing peppered with high entertainment value, The City Slickers, who sang a similar song to The Roller Girls,  performed with such rapture that the judges seemed to be rocked into a hypnotic trance. Lead by their fearless coach this team has the experience, confidence and organizational expertise to take home the gold.

None of Your Business: Odds: 11:1
As soon as the first chord was played, one judge bounced to his feet and grooved to the rapping and cadence of old school rap- and for those of you too young to know what this is,  I don't mean Jay-Z's Black album. The ladies were accurate, entertaining, and maybe most important- believable- as rappers and performers.  Old School rap guru and connoisseur, Robert Monahan III leads the way here, making this group a formidable opponent any night of the week.

Material Girls & Guy Odds: 13:1
Lucky number 13 for the group that possesses the most musical talent. No Ipod, no sound system- only live music here folks. A smooth guitar mixed with silky voices gave more than one judge chills through his spine. This group is destined for greatness.

Lazy Ladies Odds 35:1
It pains me to know that this group issued a 20 second long video, displaying their knack for non-compliance. However, something tells me that their off-the-cuff sauciness can be molded into a sassy and entertaining performance.

Breaking News...

The auditions are nearly complete... So far, only one team has faced blatant, utter rejection.  Earlier this week, a team who forgot to bring their "A" Game was simply shunned by the ultra-experienced, well-dressed, (did I mention criminally handsome?) long-time performance coach, Neill Alleva.

Reports are surfacing that the rejected team is taking it very hard.  Members of the team (seen below) are trying to take control in what appears to be a Lord-of-the-Flies-esque manner.  Analysis of this photo has revealed that the documents being signed are secession papers.. The three soon-to-be ex-members are attempting to secretly form a new trio team which will be called "The Bait n' Tackles".  The meaning has yet to be discovered..

Former world ping-pong champion, writer, director, and expert coach Matthew Jacobs will really have his hands full with this team (no pun intended).  In the spirit of Partybus, I.. Robert Monahan III, would like to extend this self-help video to get the inexperienced team through these troubled times.
